Find your water supplier and water quality report
Enter your ZIP code to find your supplier and its water report. No street address needed.
Find your supplier
A ZIP code can include more than one supplier. Confirm the name on your bill.
We check supplier report pages and EPA’s report directory. Some systems list a report page or contact details instead of a direct PDF.
Check EPA’s supplier map ↗Where the matches come from and what they mean
We match Census 2020 ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (approximate ZIP areas) against EPA’s public water-system service-area map. Boundaries can be modeled, old or incomplete. These are candidate systems, not a confirmed address match. Public groundwater suppliers are still public systems—not private wells.
For report links, we check known supplier pages or look up the exact system ID in EPA’s map, then match its name in EPA’s state report directory. We do not make up report dates. An EPA-listed link may be older than the supplier’s newest report.
Census ZIP-area explanation ↗What to look for in your water report
Check the name and date
Make sure the report is for your supplier. Read the sampling dates as well as the report year.
Find the results table
Look for the substances detected, their reported levels and the limits listed beside them. Check any notes about a violation.
Choose your next step
If a result is unclear, ask the supplier. Use your report and any home test to choose which concern a filter should address.
A Consumer Confidence Report is an annual report from a community water supplier. It explains where its water comes from and reports test results. Read EPA’s guide to water reports for help. For questions about water at home, look up a water concern or find filters for your needs.
Questions you may have
Can a ZIP code tell me exactly who supplies my water?
A ZIP code gives possible suppliers. It can cross service boundaries, and maps can be incomplete. Confirm the name on your bill or ask your landlord before choosing a result.
What if I cannot find my supplier or its latest report?
Use the EPA supplier map or report directory linked in the tool. You can also ask the supplier for its newest Consumer Confidence Report. A missing lookup result does not mean the supplier has no report.
Does this show what is in the water at my kitchen tap?
The report shows results for the public water system. It does not test your home. Your plumbing can affect water after it leaves the public system, so a home test may still be useful.
Can I use this for a private well?
This lookup finds public water suppliers. For a private well, use a recent well test and advice from your local health department. A nearby public supplier’s report does not describe your well.
Why is the report year different from the sample year?
An annual report often describes samples from the previous year. Read both the report date and the sampling dates before comparing results. If the linked page does not show a clear year, open the report and check its cover.
Will my ZIP code choose a filter for me?
No. First confirm your supplier and read its results. Then choose the concerns you want to address in the filter finder. A nearby result alone is not proof that you need a certain filter.
