Clearly Filtered vs ZeroWater: Targets, TDS and Running Costs
These pitchers solve different buying needs. Clearly Filtered P-V3 is worth considering for a named substance in its lab table. Legacy ZeroWater ZP-010 is the choice here for a low-TDS goal. Neither a long contaminant list nor a zero meter reading proves every safety claim.

The choice in plain English
Choose ZeroWater when dissolved solids are the goal
The legacy five-stage cartridge lowers dissolved solids and includes a meter to track exhaustion. The manual’s 15-gallon certified claim capacity is far shorter than P-V3’s 100-gallon maker rating. Those capacities do not mean identical contaminant claims.
Choose P-V3 only after checking your target
Its wider lab table may address a concern that matters to you. Separate those tests from NSF 42/372 certification. Paying more is not useful if the extra claims do not match your water.
Price a year of cartridges before choosing
At one gallon daily, plan four P-V3 cartridges from new, or 25 legacy ZeroWater cartridges using its 15-gallon claim capacity. High source TDS can use up ZeroWater sooner. Confirm the legacy replacement price before calculating its dollar total.
Our editorial grades describe buying fit, not lab results, customer ratings or removal percentages. Bars run from 0 (poor fit) to 4 (standout). Missing evidence stays unscored. Read the reason before choosing.

Budget ranges are not live offers. Tax, shipping and earlier filter changes can add cost. Whole-house quotes must include installation and compatible service parts. Some links earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.
Pitcher budgets assume 365 gallons per year. A full replacement year buys fresh cartridges for that year; leftover capacity can carry over. More water, dirty feed or an earlier change raises the budget.
Questions before you choose
Does ZeroWater’s 000 reading prove there is no lead or PFAS?
No. The meter estimates dissolved ions, not individual contaminants. Use the exact performance sheet and suitable lab testing for a health concern.
Can I use newer Culligan ZeroWater claims for ZP-010?
No. This page compares the legacy five-stage configuration. The newer ZEROF01 cartridge has a different record. Match the model and cartridge before buying replacements.
How many filters does a year at one gallon daily need?
Using rated volumes, 365 gallons needs four P-V3 cartridges or 25 legacy ZeroWater cartridges, including the starter. Change sooner when the instructions or water conditions call for it.
